The SBI Difference: Square Photos & Wide Signatures
While most banks use a rectangular 200×230 px portrait photo, SBI uses a square 200×200 px photo[cite: 10]. Furthermore, SBI requires a much wider 800×300 px signature format[cite: 10]. Both will fail SBI's portal validation if you use standard IBPS dimensions[cite: 10].
| Document | Size | File Size Limit |
|---|---|---|
| SBI Clerk Photo | 200 × 200 pixels (square) | 20–50 KB |
| SBI Clerk Signature | 800 × 300 pixels (wide) | 10–20 KB |
⚠️ Crop Before Resizing: A standard passport photo is a 3:4 ratio. SBI requires a 1:1 ratio. Simply forcing a standard photo into 200x200 pixels will squish your face[cite: 10]. You must crop the image into a square shape first.
How to Prepare Your SBI Clerk Files
- Go to ExamReady Photo Cropper and select the 1:1 Square preset[cite: 10]. Crop your photo keeping your face central.
- Take the downloaded file to the Photo Resizer and apply the SBI 200×200 preset to compress it to 50 KB[cite: 10].
- For signatures, sign widely across a piece of paper. Use the Signature Resizer with the SBI 800×300 preset and select "Stretch to fill"[cite: 10].
